India's first smart carbon-free village marks a historic achievement in sustainable development.

Damday Village has officially achieved carbon neutrality, becoming India's first village to reach this remarkable milestone. Through a comprehensive approach combining renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and community participation, we have successfully offset our carbon emissions.
Our journey began with installing solar panels across all households, eliminating dependence on conventional power sources. We planted over 12,500 trees, which not only absorb CO2 but also provide fruit and timber for the community.
The village's commitment to organic farming has reduced chemical fertilizer use to zero, while our waste management system ensures proper composting and recycling. Every resident has embraced these changes, making Damday a model for sustainable rural development.
Looking ahead, we aim to plant 25,000 trees by 2025 and help neighboring villages adopt similar practices. This achievement proves that with determination and community cooperation, even small villages can make a significant impact on climate change.
